- $285,000 to $400,000 Base Salary, negotiable dependent upon experience

COMPANY PROFILE: 
Having opened its first office more than 20 years ago, this organization is now the largest physician-led outpatient medical practice in the greater NYC metro area.  In addition to robust primary care offerings, they also operate specialty service lines in cardiology, pediatrics, obstetrics and gynecology, allergy and immunology, dermatology, and more.  Their large staff of physicians, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants are supported by dedicated team members, utilizing resources such as on-site laboratory services.


POSITION DESCRIPTION: 
This is an excellent opportunity for an ophthalmologist with subspecialty training in medical and surgical glaucoma to provide high-quality ophthalmology services including, but not limited to, diagnosis, treatment, coordination of care, preventive care, and health maintenance.

Specific duties of the role include, but are not limited to:

- diagnose and treat a wide variety of eye disorders, with a concentration on glaucoma
- review patient histories
- perform physical examinations
- order / interpret tests (visual field, OCT, biometry, etc.)
- evaluate, diagnose, and provide appropriate treatment and patient care
- perform routine eye exams and treat eye diseases (macular degeneration, cataracts, etc.)
- recommend suitable management, including preventive health recommendations and habits
- prescribe medications and formulate ongoing treatment and disease management plans
- collaborate with PCPs and internal / external optometrists and ophthalmologists
- provide relationship-centered care, taking into account psychosocial and physical needs
- communicate effectively with the clinical team to ensure total delivery of quality care
- participate in medical staff educational programs and meetings

The new ophthalmologist will perform office-based procedures and weekly outpatient surgical procedures, including:

- laser iridotomies
- capsulotomies
- selective laser trabeculoplasties
- slit lamp corneal foreign body removal
- chalazia treatments
- excisional lid biopsies
- cataract / IOL surgeries (premium IOLs optional)
- trabeculectomies
- tube shunts
- MIGS (Hydrus, Xen, iStent, Kahook, ECP, GATT, etc.)

A variable number of patients per day are seen, based upon provider preference for patient volume and types of appointments scheduled.

All visits are prepped and supported by dedicated clinical assistants.

The practice utilizes the Epic EHR.


REQUIREMENTS:
- New York medical license
- DEA
- Board Certification / Eligibility, Ophthalmology
- Fellowship, Surgical Glaucoma
- 1 year experience preferred
